ABOUT US
FORGED IN FIRE – SET IN STEEL 2021
On September 14th 2019 Rockin the Bowl – Forged in Hell 2019 brought open air rock back to the Don Valley in Sheffield to critical acclaim from fans, bands and press alike.
In 2020, Covid-19 made it impossible for live events to go ahead with a proper rock n roll atmosphere and we were not prepared to water down Rockin the Bowl into a drive in gig or put people in nice neat squares and keep them silent for 12 hours. So, with the absolute support of our team, audience, bands, vendors, subcontractors and friends near and far, we took the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 event and make 2021 an absolute blast!
10th to 12th September 2021 Rockin the Bowl – Forged in Fire and Set in Steel will be a full scale rock and roll assault – a three dayer of massive proportions, blasting the cobwebs off Don Valley Bowl.
So… come along and help us put open air rock and roll back into the STEEL CITY.
Without you… it’s just an empty field.

We are not prepared to stop there and on 12th September Rockin the Bowl – Fire and Steel will be bigger and better hosting the absolute cream of emerging talent and a headliner who is guaranteed to round the party off in style.

FORGED IN HELL 2019
When was the last time an all-rock open air event was seen in the Steel City?!
Way back in 1993 when Def Leppard, Thunder, Ugly Kid Joe and Terrorvision played to over 40 000 people at the now demolished Don Valley Stadium. 25 years later, rock is back in the Don Valley – not at the stadium but at the Bowl, an 8000 capacity grass bowl that will become home to the very first Rockin the Bowl full day event.
We at RTB aim to firmly look towards the future of hard/heavy/classic rock by showcasing the best of the new breed of British talent. The toughest question is… Who do you pick? There is so much out there today. It’s impossible to choose but we reckon we were lucky enough to grab a great bunch that will guarantee you one of the parties of the year.
Grab a beer or a brew and have a good old rummage around this website and check out all the stuff we got for you. Just remember, if it’s Rock n’ Roll but it’s not on here – all that means is it’s not on here YET! Cheers for supporting the next wave of British Bands that will be carrying the banner and making sure Rock will never die.
